Book Review: Opposition

Lux #5
Jennifer L. Armentrout
Publication:  August 1, 2014 by Entangled Teen

Katy knows the world changed the night the Luxen came.

She can't believe Daemon welcomed his race or stood my as his kind threatened to obliterate every last human and hybrid on Earth. But the lines between good and bad have blurred, and love has become and emotion that could destroy her--could destroy them all.

Daemon will do anything to save those he loves, even if it means betrayal.

They must team with an unlikely enemy if there is any chance of surviving the invasion. But when it quickly becomes impossible to tell friend from foe, and the world is crumling around them, they may lose everything--even what they cherish most--to ensure the survival of their friends... and mankind.

War has come to Earth. And no matter the outcome, the future will never be the same for those left standing.

Once again, I have been sucked into the wonderful and fantastic world of the Lux Series. And once again, I was not disappointed. The book did take me longer to read than I would have liked simply because I knew it was the last one and I wanted to savor every last moment of it.

Throughout the whole book I kept wondering, "How in the world is this going to end?"Right before the ending was sad, and Katy's pain nearly ripped my heart out. During that whole heart being ripped out, I was kind of terrified. The whole I sense the Luxen nearby trick was, in a way worse, than zombies and zombies freak me the hell out, so yeah.

The unlikely alliance will shock you and leave you thinking, whaaaa? In the end though, I was glad that I read Obsession prior to reading Opposition. And I would highly suggest it for anyone that is old enough, because it is, without a doubt, and adult book.

All in all, I loved the book. Loved the series. Love the characters. Loved the writing style. Loved the ending. Loved the beginning. Loved the spin-off. Loved how all these battles through out the series read like a movie. This would be one hell of a new movie series, but as always the books will always be better.

I really want to gush more... and maybe throw in a little fan girling, but I would end up giving too many things away and you just have to read the book--seiers for yourself.

I would suggest reading the books in this order:

  1. Shadows (Prequel Novella)
  2. Obsidian
  3. Onyx
  4. Opal
  5. Origin
  6. Obsession (Hunter and Serena)
  7. Opposition

And don't forget to read the special thank you Jen posted to her blog!
