No one is like Daemon Black.

When he set out to prove his feelings for me, he wasn't fooling around. Doubting him isn't something I'll do again, and now that we've made it through the rough patches, well... There's a lot of spontaneous combustion going on.

But even when he can't protect his family from the danger of trying to free those they love.

After everything I'm no longer the same Katy. I'm different... And I'm not sure what that will mean in the end. When each step we take in discovering the truth puts us in the path of the secret organization responsible for torturing and testing hybrids, the more I realize there is no end to what I am capable of. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won't turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our words forever.

Together we're stronger... and they know it.

What I thought

It has taken me quite a while to read this book and that's not because it was bad or anything like that. Life just got away from me. School work mostly. Then I thought, I'm older than all these characters now, why am I still reading this stuff. Because these books are amazing! That is why I am still reading these books.

Like all of Jen's books, the characters are easily to love and her writing styles easily flows, sucking deep into the depths of the story. I laughed at some of Daemon's laughable moments (thankfully no one was around to hear me). My favorite one was when Katy was "sick" (sorry, kinda spoiler, not really though).

"I hope you didn't give me cooties."

Overall great book! Great series! If you re looking for a sci-fi, ya read this is the book for you (but please start at book one).

I am looking forward to reading Origin next.

I am awarding this book five stars.
